The four-sided MP260 is a universal and compact planer/moulder designed for professional carpenters and woodworkers from the construction and building industry. It’s an easy-to-use and affordable machine which planes or moulds four sides at the same time. The MP260 features two horizontal cutterheads – the 410-mm-wide top cutterhead and the 300-mm-wide bottom cutterhead, as well as two side cutterheads, each with a maximum of 100 mm high. One of these side cutterheads is mounted on a fixed spindle, while the other one is moveable. Each side cutterhead comes standard with two HSS straight cutting knives at proper lengths. For all cutterheads, a variety of optional profile knives with different shapes and dimensions are also available. The four-sided processing operation is done in one pass which helps considerably to save time and increases the efficiency of work.
There are five feed rollers which advance the material along the cutterheads in a smooth and consistent way. Depending on needs, standard steel feed rollers can be replaced with optional hardened steel rollers for increased performance, or with optional polyurethane rollers which further protect the material surface.
The work table is made of quality cast iron, machined on modern CNC tools in order to make it as stable as possible during work. Just above the feed table, within the operator’s reach, there’s an easy-to-use control panel. The electrical motors with the total power of 12,5 kW are powerful, economical, and quiet.
The MP260 features four sawdust exhaust ports – one with the diameter of 125 mm, and the other three ports with 100 mm. All the ports are placed in the most optimal places to effectively extract the sawdust from the cutterheads, as well as to keep the workplace clean.
The machine works at a constant feed speed of 5 m/min (MP260 ECO), or at a variable feed speed at 2-11 m/min (MP260 PRO).
The rotating speed of the cutterheads reaches 6000 rpm, which guarantees smooth and esthetic surface finish of the material.
With the MP260 planer/moulder you can process the material up to the height of 100 mm, but in order to mould or profile the side surfaces of this high material, you need to adjust the machine and install the optional 100 mm high side cutterheads.
For installing cutterheads, you need to use special flattened nuts. The maximum moulding width of four-sided material processing (with 4 cutterheads engaged) is 260 mm. It can be increased to 300 mm by removing 2 side cutterheads and using two horizontal cutterheads (2-sided process), or even further increased to 410 mm at 1-sided moulding – when only the top cutterhead is engaged.
